Broome, Western Australia

I know you won’t believe me, but this is not photoshopped, I didn’t even have a filter on the camera! We were staying a few days in Broome enjoying the relative cosmopolitan atmosphere.  Even though it was dry season – thunderclouds gathered on several afternoons – sometimes it rained, often it did not.

The colour of the sea was quite extra-ordinary, this was first place we discovered that the Indian Ocean is genuinely blue, the Pacific Ocean, in contrast is almost always green! I suspect that there is some difference in plankton which makes for the different colour. What I know for a fact, is that outrageously blue sea next to the burnt red of Australia’s “sun burnt country” – makes for great photos!

Such a common comment from Eastern Australians! Really you should go – absolutely gorgeous – and yeah for real the colours!

Yep. It is like a lot of kiwis from North Island never have been in South Island 🙂
Personally western part is most beautiful part in Australia. I can’t get how so many locals (from East) and tourists are ignoring this part of country.
